The heaven of tourism in Turkey, Antalya, hosted this natural stone sector fair from 28 November to 1 December, with a total number of 347 exhibitors
First edition of Anatolia Stone
Held in the Antalya Expo Center, in the fair participated by 57 foreigners and 287 Turkish exhibitors on 17,800 m2. Participants came from 56 countries like Germany, Brasil, Canada, China, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, England, Finland, Ghana, India, Hong Kong, Iran, Israel, Italy, Sweden, Japan, Korea, Jordan, Kuwait, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, United Arab Emirates,Syria,USA.
The fair was visited by 970 purchaser companies with 2,879 foreigner participants whose accommodation and transportation provided by Arena International Fairs, a total number of 13,232 people.
It is indicated that pre-planned dual-interviews by Arena International Fairs resulted in volume of 200 millions of dollars of negotiations.
Contributions to Antalya economy
With the economical contributions of Anatolia Stone Fair to the city determined by 50 millions dollar, it also contributed to employ 2,000 people in many fields like accommodation, transportation, food&beverage, publishing, construction, IT, security, cleaning, parking, logistics and cargo.
Sector collaborating companies
Among others,the fair was visited for ACIMM (Association of Italian Manufacturers for Machinery for Marble), ICE (Italian Institute for External Trade) ASSOFOM (Italian Association of Marble Furnishing Producers), AIGSA (All Indian Granites & Stone Association), CCPIT Building Materials Sub-council, China, AGG (Galician Association of Granite Manufacturers, Spain). From Turkey, the fair was visited by Antalya Exporters Union, Antalya Chamber of Marbles, Burdur Chamber of Marbles or Bucak Chamber of Marbles.
Symposium Hans-Caravanserais, Stone in Traditional and Modern Architecture.
During symposium Hans, Caravanserais; Stone on Traditional and Modern Architecture, stone usage in Turkish and world traditional-modern buildings were debated. World famous architects and acedemicans like Dr. Salma Samar Damluji, Richard England, Prof. Dr. Takayoshi Aoki, Evangulos Thomopoulos, Fikri Benabdallah, Eng. Arch. Cengiz Bektaş. shared their ideas and stiffened the universality of stone.
Turkey, which owns 40% of world reserves of marble, is observed increase of natural stone usage, which has played an important role on healing the country economy.
